This Privacy Policy describes how The Platform Basketball LLC ("Platform 3x3," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Platform 3x3 mobile application and related services. By using our app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or register for an event:

Account information: name, email address, date of birth, and role (Organizer, Team Captain, Team Manager, Player, Parent/Guardian)
Player profile: jersey number, jersey size, grade or age group, emergency contact name and phone number, and medical notes (optional)
Parent/Guardian information: name, email address, and relationship to the minor athlete
Event and registration data: event name, division, team name, registration status, and payment status
Liability waiver acknowledgment: digital signature record, timestamp, and IP address at the time of signing

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

Device type and operating system version
App version and session activity logs
Crash reports and error diagnostics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account and role-based access
Process event registrations and maintain roster records
Generate and distribute event schedules to registered participants
Record and store signed liability waivers for event organizers
Send event-related notifications (schedule updates, registration confirmations, game day reminders)
Allow event organizers to view registration status, waiver status, and payment status for their events
Improve app performance and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Platform 3x3 is designed to support youth sports events. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Children under 13 may not create their own accounts. A parent or guardian must create an account and register on their behalf.
When a parent or guardian registers a minor athlete, we collect the child's name, date of birth, grade, jersey information, and emergency contact — solely for the purpose of event registration and participation.
Parents and guardians may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us at privacy@platform3x3.com.
We do not share minor athletes' personal information with third parties except as required to operate the event.

4. Liability Waiver Records

When a participant or parent/guardian signs a digital liability waiver through the app, we store a record of that signature including the signer's name, timestamp, and the version of the waiver that was signed. These records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years to support event organizers' legal and insurance obligations.

Waiver records are accessible only to the event organizer who created the event and to Platform 3x3 administrators. They are never shared publicly.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

With event organizers: Organizers can see the name, registration status, waiver status, and payment status of participants registered for their events. They cannot see payment card details or sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to run the event.
With service providers: We use trusted third-party services for hosting, database management, and payment processing. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for any other purpose.
As required by law: We may disclose information if required by a court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the safety of any person.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Liability waiver records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years regardless of account status, as described in Section 4.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and personal data
Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable)
Request a copy of your data in a portable format

9. SMS/Text Messaging Communications

If you provide your phone number to Platform 3x3 through app registration, event sign-up, or any other means, you consent to receive SMS text messages from us regarding league schedules, event updates, registration confirmations, and related communications.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.

Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in data will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
